Miktor + Molf
This illustrious duo (Mick Johan & Matthijs Booij), also known as the son of a preacher man and the son of a soldier works and lives in Amsterdam. They met in 2001 at the Dutch Royal Academy of Fine Arts. They make collages, draw, paint, film, build installations, websites, well pretty much anything that pops in our mind.
Influenced and inspired by their different upbringings, modern pop culture, dirty old magazines, clean old magazines, heavy metal, skateboarding, Mariah Carey, newspapers, The Internet, each other and what not, they produce a wide range of very schizophrenic and not so schizophrenic work in a very authentic, explicit and uncompromised manner. Often not avoiding usage of absurdistic humour, thank god.
